The Suffragettes: In Honour of Women's day
This illustration based on the women who lead the plight of suffrage in Britain.

The origin of the name of the Suffragettes (the 'ette' being added to indicate quaintness) was originally intended to be a sneering, patronising slander to ridicule the movements tiny, hysterical women by the establishment at the time.

Ironically, the women agitators donned the name with pride and fought back with hunger strikes, public disorder and Jiu-Jitsu (under the tutelage of martial artist Edith Garrud).
